Okay so we kept fighting Spurnyte Mal until we won. It was fine! Less fine was the poor communication, contradictions and moral wrasslin' the party endured as they decided what to do with the still-sleeping vampire kids. Vaantrik, clearly a hardliner on staking all vampires (except the one we're working for), was stopped by Honey, who did not think it was sporting to kill something that was hurt and sleeping but had been notably on-board with murdering an old man in the recent past. Honey would also like to please hold on until everyone in the party clearly communicates their feelings on the matter, so that she knows what the majority wants to do!! So far, the majority is waffling and unclear. Vaantrik got all upsetti spaghetti at Honey for stopping him, and she sent a few barbs back his way. While this was happening, Talon snuck the vamp kids back to their coffin and stacked a bunch of crates on top, essentially making the decision for the party. No one is happy.

After Flea goes to talk with and calm her close personal friend Vaantrik down, the party leaves the basement and explores the upstairs. We find a couple of rooms, including one full of Lathander merch and an office type of deal. Vaantrik invites Honey to open a chest inside the office using the key they found on Spurnyte Mal's shitty little body. The chest contains the devil-killing weapons Klava Ikaia wanted. They are really cool and we think about keeping them, but eventually decide to fulfil our part of the deal.
The party journeys back to the market, climbing a high cliff-side on the way in order to avoid attention. We give Klava her weapons, as promised, and let her know about the vampire kids (she's gonna kill 'em ASAP). She had promised to release a Hellrider in exchange (so I assume she did?) and also gives us a boon of our choice. She gives us some time to wander the subterranean complex and brainstorm.
END OF SESSION CUTSCENE TIME
The same woman rocking her baby is back, this time singing to the little guy about a scary lady.
"Beware, beware the girl from beyond the trees
Beware Ive heard them cry
Her blood is stone, her heart will never beat
While she waits to fade and die
This girl, my child, was once like you and me
She lived and grew and dreamed
With golden hair and eyes of emerald green
Yet her smiles belied a scheme
Why this, why this, oh daughter of our dreams
Why this did you forget your family’s ways
Always the pride of your loved ones eye
Why would you tear away
The girl long lost, wandered toward the mound
A prize within she’d seek
This magic old, lost to time and tongue that’d she’d steal
And forever keep
But when the girl reached out toward her prize
Terror filled her mind
The visions fell and and fed her all the lies
But the power stood aside
And buried deep beneath the loam
With growl and gnashing teeth
Flying outward with her next breathe cried
Beware the one from beyond the trees!
I’ve heard I’ve heard across a moonlit dream
An old voice warning me
Beware beware the girl from beyond the trees
Beware - beware..."
"...of me"
Aforementioned scary lady has appeared in the room, and is not happy with being called out like this. It seems as though the singer and the scary lady have history. The scary lady straight up murders the singer and steals the baby. She wonders what his name is and they both wander into the night.
